I have been studying composition recently, and looking back at some of my old photos.

Attached is a jetty shot which I have always liked, which has now been reduced to the jetty element only. Less is more. The background has gone.

I am content with this, as this is merely cropping of the image, not digital removal of elements of the picture. I am not fan of mass digital manipulation, or composoting photos, perhaps because I am no good at it! Cropping is what I could, or should, have done at the time, and reflects what is really there.

And the important thing to take from this is for me to think about my composition more when taking images in the future.
