I posted this black and white image the other day, a striking picture of the Palace of Westminster.
I am now posting three black and white variants of this image.
So quite a visual post then!
Why three black and white variants?
I wanted to vary the brightness of the exposure, so the first black and white picture of the Palace of Westminster is the edit I posted previously which you can see above.
The next black and white image has had the exposure increased by 1.5 stops (in Lightroom - one slider only to a virtual copy).
The third image has had the exposure reduced by 1 stop.
These changes in exposure were done in Lightroom to the version of the image edited in Nik Silver Efex Pro.
And now for the crop. I have cropped the first image more tightly, getting rid of the stuff around the edges. I ended up with a square crop (I don't like free form crops for some reason).
Which do you prefer?
I like the last image. I am going to re-edit this image from the beginning now that I have something different to work with.
I spent more time on this image as I think this is a strong image worth spending the time on. Obviously I do not have the time to spend on every image like this, and also not the time to wriite so much about one image, but every now and then I like to take an image and play around, and write about it.
So you might see one more version of this picture of London popping up on my blog one day soon!
