This is an image from a commercial architectural photography shoot. An urgent job to shoot 5 Travelodges.
5! In a hurry too!
I want my Portfolio to include some branded architectural photography work. And Traveodge is a pretty big brand.
This is the client edit version with a bit more done to it.
I have added a vignette in Lightroom to darken the edges. The feedback from my portfolio review was that the image needed to be darkened for my portfolio, which I have done this way. It made the image look too flat though, so I then brightened up the part of the image around the logo by dodging in Lightroom - such a powerful tool.
I also cropped in a bit tighter, giving a stronger composition
Next I brightened the reds, darkened the blues, and adjusted the blacks and whites a little bit.
And then went into Photoshop and cleaned up the cladding and a yellow label on the window I had never seen before. More cleaning in Photoshop!!
This is a single image captured on my Canon 6D, using a focal length of 34mm on my Canon 17-40mm lens.
The exposure was 1/200th second, F8, ISO200, handheld, AV Mode
