This image has got quite dense and dark and a bit lumpy. Not sure I am feeling the love for this image. Well the black and white version anyway.
What do you think?
This is what I did to the colour version of the image posted yesterday using Nik Silver Efex Pro.
Firstly, this is what I did.
- Fine Art Process
- Lens Falloff 1
- Highlights +37%
- Midtones -50%
- Dynamic Brightness +25%
Sometimes black and white images work, sometimes they don’t. And the ones I think will look really good in black and white, like this image, I really don’t like!
But I need to move on. I have lots more things to do, including one image I am really excited about which I will be working on in the next couple of days.
Well be honest with me – what do you think of this black and white picture of the tree with the sun bursting out all over the place?
It sounds more exciting than it is. Or is it just me?
I don’t know, sometimes I build my hopes up with an image and it just doesn’t work. But that is all part of the learning experience, isn’t it? If every image that came out of my camera was a portfolio piece where would be the fun in all this work?
Talking of which, it is getting towards the end of January and I need to sort some stuff for my best of January collection. I might do a post called “My Top 10 Images of January 2017”. Yes, why not?
I will prepare a draft of that right now and make a new collection in Lightroom. “Oh no” I hear my Lightroom Catalogue groan – not another collection! I know. I don’t hear Lightroom. Just saying.
