This is the black and white version of the picture I posted yesterday, the picture of the field near Bere Regis.
I like this version of the image a lot. The main feature is the road off to the right, unconventionally taking you out of the scene. Or providing a natural frame to the scene.
I am going to return to this location over the course of this year and try to record the same scene in different seasons.
I am not going to do this every month - if I say I am going to do that the only thing I can guarantee is that I will fail in, erm, month 1 or 2. No I will pop back every now and then when there is something interesting going on in the sky and see what I can capture.
But the question for this image, well not this image actually but the colour version I posted yesterday is this - is the image good enough to go on my Dorset Photographer web page? The monochrome version is going to be added to my web page, black and white landscape photography in Dorset for sure.
I am going to do the same with this picture today, and will report back tomorrow on the outcome. Of both
I have never done this before, and am interested to see what the outcome is. But I am not going to spend my photography career working by votes. This is a one off experiment.
Sometimes an image I love bombs completely on these social platforms, and sometimes something that I thought was awful does really well. That is not to say that I have no idea what a good or bad image is - far from it. It is just that every now and then an image surprises me, one way or the other.
Another interseting thing is that sometimes either the colour or the black and white image gets a completely different response to the other one.
So lets see what happens with the colour and black an white versions of this image.
