Three alternative edits of this lovely panoramic picture of Brownsea Island and the boats in Poole Harbour photographed from Banks Road in Sandbanks

I have already posted a version of this picture on my photography blog, one with very muted colours. This is it on the right. You can read this blog post here.

I was wondering how this picture might work in colour.

I like my pictures of Sandbanks, which is a great source of landscape photography images for me.

I often find myself down there, seeing what the light is doing. Like on this day, which believe it or not was full of grey clouds but lovely diffused light.

Before I go on, the picture was taken on my Canon 6D with Canon 17-40mm lens mounted on my Manfrotto 190 Go tripod.

Exposure was 30 seconds, f14, ISO 100.

To get such a long exposure in daylight I used a Lee Big Stopper neutral density filter.

I added the colours and tones in Lightroom, which you can see in the first image. I didn't like the foreground to be honest, so did a free format crop in Lightroom giving the panoramic picture you can see below this first image.

I then took my processing a further step, carrying out a black and white conversion using Snapseed on my iPad Pro. 

Since the demise of Nik Silver Efex Pro I have been enjoying the simplicity of Snapseed. I have not yet had a go with Luminar, which I am looking forward to trying once I get stuck into my pictures of Santorini. 

But that is for the future. I will keep posting the odd new image on my photography blog, whilst concentrating on updating my web site pages.
