Well this shot speaks for itself. An absolutely stunning sunrise.
i love the colours in this shot, and the fact I have managed to retain some texture in the water, rather than do the long exposure flatten the water completely trick.
I wanted to show the colours in all their glory, which I think I have done. The sky was a big bright vibrant burst of colour, which was gone five minutes later.
This is the view from the far end of Poole Quay looking toward Sandbanks and Brownsea Island.
i set myself with this viewpoint and waited. Knowing the shot I wanted helped, as once I had sorted the composition and focus point all there was left to do was to wait and make sure the exposure was bang on.
i had to wait about half an hour for this spectacular light show, and only managed a couple of shots before it was all over. Thankfully my experience allows me just to take what I need, no need for spray and pray.
And I got what I was after, probably better than anticipated.
I am lucky to live in Dorset, and know lots of great locations to get great shots like this one.
