Another new image that is featured on my home page. This shot was taken for the University of Southampton at 1 Guildhall Square in the city centre.
The University have recently refurbished three floors of the building.
This shot is of the staff room, and shows the fantastic views from the fourth floor.
The vegetation you can see is the green wall on the balcony outside giving staff a great external space to take a break in.
The image was taken on my Canon 6D with 17-40mm F4 L lens. I took a bracketed set of three exposures, one the correct exposure, 1 shot 2 stops underexposed and the third shot two stops overexposed.
i merged the over and under exposed shots in Lightroom using the new HDR merge feature found in Lightroom CC, which is a great tool for architectural photography, especially interiors, as it helps capture the dynamic range in the scene and minimises processing time. The algorithm in Lightroom CC HDR merge is designed to work best in this way, and quickly gives you a dng file to work with, which is in reality a new RAW file.
I am a professional photographer working in Bournemouth, Poole, Sandbanks, Dorset and Hampshire.
