Today I will be posting some new architecture photography images.
This is Chideock Church, which can be found in Dorset on the road from Bridport to Honiton.
I was commissioned to shoot the church by the architect, Andrew Stone, following the construction of the new dome.
The problem was that the sky was dull and lifeless, but I had to do the shoot on that day. Rather than doing a sky replacement I went for this feel which I love.
I wanted to pull out all the detail in the foreground, with the interesting grounds, and of course the church as the main subject, but also wanted to get some interest out of the sky.
But most of all I wanted to recreate the mood of the location, which is a special, private location.
I will post another version of this with a diffrerent sky in for comparison, but for commercial work I am normally asked to reproduce what is there. Ideally I will carry out all commercial shoots on brght sunny days, but obviously this is not that easy here in England, even in sunny Dorset!
No technical info on this shot today – just the shot and a bit of background.
