Modular buildings. Well they are products. And ones that are surprisingly common these days as people try to provide additional space cheaply, quickly but to a high standard.
I was commissioned to photograph three new sites with modular buildings provided by Elliott UK. The picture I have included is a branding shot. A crisp, simple picture with the Elliott UK logo on one of these recently completed modular buildings.
Branding is very important in product photography, and one of the things I like to do is exclude everything but a part of the product and the branding – the name and the logo. Makes the name stand out with all the other distractions gone.
This was a deliberate act, shooting at maximum aperture to blur everything but the name. Less is more.
Product photography is quite an exact science, but one that I add my creativity to. I enjoy construction product photography, as you have to take a subject and work with it.
And as well as the creative side is the technical correctness of the colours and branding, which always have to be absolutely correct.
This is why I have a very specific workflow, both in terms of image capture and image processing, to ensure that I consistently produce high quality, technically correct images.
And I have very specific camea equipment which helps me to produce these high quality images, including my Canon 6D and Canon L series lenses.
