Well first off, a very warm and Happy New Year to you, wherever you are in the world. I hope that you have had a nice festive break, whatever that means to you.
A quick post this week, where I will tell you what I will be sharing with you in 2023. Yes, 2023 is with us already. And I hope that 2023 is a great year for you, and for me too!
Talking of which. What will I be up to in 2023?
And that is the last time that I will say 2023 in this post OK?
Well, I have two main things that I do photography wise. I photograph buildings, this is my work and what I write about on my blog. And I have the Photography Explained Podcast, where I erm explain photography stuff.
And I have an excellent course titled “How To Become A Real Estate Photographer” which I published last year. You can check this out on my courses page here.
My photography Blog
I am starting off January with four of my photos of buildings. This is what I love to do, write about my photos of buildings, and tell you how I got the shot, what I was thinking about, the camera settings, how I processed the image. That kind of thing.
I am going to start off with four images that I have already processed, and I may then dig out some old photos and rework them from scratch. Yep, I like that idea. And that could fill February nicely too!
But the underlying point is that there will be more photos in blog posts in 2023. Well it is a photography blog after all.
Other subjects
My plan always was to have posts in a month based around the following four subjects
- Technique/ image capture
- Processing
- Gear
- And something else
But what quite often happens is that I get into a theme and deep dive into it. So it will be one or the other! But good stuff all the same.
New for 2023
New this year will be much more focussed, very deep dive posts into one specific thing. This is the thing that I really love to do, and the things that give me the best feedback and the most views.
And I am going to be covering things in new ways in 2023. So lot’s to look forward to.
And I am also going to deep dive into Lightroom, even better with the recent additions.
The Photography Explained Podcast
This is my fortnightly photographic audio offering, which should be starting off with “11 Actionable Things You And I Can Do To Improve Our Photography in 2023”. I say should as I have other time pressures this week, so this might have to slip a fortnight. I have a plan B thankfully to keep things going though.
But after that, I am looking for more listeners questions. So if you want me to answer your photography question then get in touch. Whatever it is, no matter how basic, complicated, or just plain weird, I will give it a go.
So get in touch.
I am going to go back on some of the early episodes and expand on them (which is my plan B for this week’s episode), answer listeners questions and come up with some new stuff.
And in every episode I tell my listeners how what I have said applies you use a phone for your photography, as well as what I do.
But still new episode every fortnight, even better now with the latest polishing of the script which I have just completed. And an exciting year this will be for my podcast too as I grow my audience solely but surely, episode by episode.
The main aim for me for 2023 is to create the best possible quality episodes that I can, technically but much more importantly content wise. And entertainment wise. The longer episodes have allowed me to drift much more into being me, and there will be lots more me in my episodes in 2023.
Which is a good thing. Hopefully….
You Tube
I have a You Tube channel where I talk about something from my blog. Yes, a weekly video of me talking into my phone. This is good, as I normally come up with something new when I talk about something that I have written about. This is a link to me on my You Tube channel talking about this post.
It is the way that my mind works. Here is a link to my channel.
Social Media
I share my stuff on social media. Just one post per day, something from the good stuff above. And that is all. This is where you can find me on the socials
- Twitter – @rickphoto
- Instagram – Rick McEvoy Photography
- LinkedIn – Rick McEvoy
- Pinterest – Rick McEvoy
My weekly email
Most importantly, I send a weekly email to my subscribers. If you want to hear from me once a week with a lovely, informative email about something that is on my mind just fill in one of the boxes on my website.
And finally
My weekly email leads me nicely on to the last thing that I want to say here. Get in touch with me, if only to say hi. If there is something you want me to write about or talk about contact me and can talk about this.
This is the thing that I love to do – help people with the things that they need help with in their photography. Remember I have been doing this for years now, practising and learning this stuff. And I am here to help you.
How do I do this?
Simple.
Get in touch with me – email me – sales@rickmcevoyphotography.co.uk
Get in touch, ask me a question that I can answer on my blog or podcast, or just say hi – it would be great to hear from you.
Thanks for visiting my small but perfectly formed website, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers from me Rick
